The
Seton Resource Center for Child Development
has
been
serving children, schools and families in the New
Orleans
area for more than 12
years. Students cannot learn
when
they are distracted by personal crises, or other issues. Seton
partners with urban schools (Pk-8) to deliver a wide array of
preventative, and direct clinical services to children at
school. Having services provided on school campus make it easy
for both parents and students to access the services they need.
The Seton Resource Center for Child
Development is a program of Daughters of Charity Services of New
Orleans whose mission is to continue the long tradition of health
ministry to the people of New Orleans, especially the
under-served.

Costs of Not Addressing Barriers to Learning
A high school dropout earns about $260,000 less
over a lifetime than a high school graduate and
pays about $60,000 less in taxes.
The US loses $192 billion in combined income and
tax-revenue losses with each cohort of 18
year-olds who never complete high school.
Increasing educational attainment of that cohort
by one year would recoup nearly half those
losses.
